We would like to encourage our Sorrento Surf Life Saving Volunteers to continue learning and stay up to date with their awards. 

GET INVOLVED!

Define your role in the surf lifesaving community by enrolling in the various training offered by Sorrento SLSC and Life Saving Victoria. Training is available to adults and to those who have completed the nippers program. They will equip you to contribute to beach safety and support the greater community effectively.

Surf Rescue Certificate:

Join us for the upcoming SRC Surf Rescue Certificate Training! This is a fantastic opportunity for Nippers over 13 years of age who are ready to progress to volunteering at the beach. Learn essential surf rescue skills and become a vital part of our beach safety team.

Bronze Medallion Training:
Join us for Bronze Medallion training, where you'll learn essential techniques in surf rescue, CPR, and first aid. This training is a key step in becoming a certified surf lifesaver and is open to all members looking to enhance their capabilities and contribute to beach safety. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable skills and be part of our lifesaving community!

Skills Maintenance:

Attention all Volunteer Surf Life Savers! If you wish to continue as volunteer patroller or water safety for the nippers program in the 2024/2025 season, it's time to requalify.

Ensure you are certified for the upcoming season by refreshing your skills and meeting the requalification requirements. Your commitment is crucial to keeping our beaches safe!

SSV/ATV Training at Sorrento SLSC:

Join us for Side-by-Side Vehicle (SSV) and All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training at Sorrento SLSC! This essential training session is designed to equip members with a valid drivers license with the skills and knowledge needed to safely and effectively operate these vehicles during nippers sessions and patrols.

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and First Aid (ARTFA) Training:

ART FA training  is vital for anyone needing to renew their expired ART FA qualification, which is valid for three years and must be fully redone every three years. Most Sorrento members with ART FA will need renewal this year. Note that the CPR component requires annual renewal.

IRB Training:

Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club offers IRB Driver and Crew training. This practical course covers essential skills for operating Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs) in surf conditions. Learn how to safely navigate and perform rescues as part of a dedicated team. Ideal for those committed to beach safety and effective response in emergencies.
