Exciting progress continues on our new clubhouse! We’re thrilled to announce that McColl Smith Projects has now been formally appointed as the builder for the Sorrento SLSC redevelopment.
Following a detailed design review, the first stage building permit has been granted, marking a major milestone in bringing our new home to life. In preparation for the summer patrol season, temporary lifesaving operational facilities have now been established on site, including a patrol room and two storage containers to support our volunteer teams. These facilities will ensure that lifesaving operations continue seamlessly throughout construction.
Site works are scheduled to commence prior to Melbourne Cup weekend, beginning with the careful salvage and relocation of endangered indigenous flora. This important step ensures that the environmental values of our foreshore site are protected and preserved for future generations. This new clubhouse will not just be a building—it will be a legacy for our community, ensuring that lifesaving services and programs continue to thrive for generations to come.
