Volunteer Lifesaving
2025/2026 season is around the corner.
As we head into another exciting summer, our volunteer lifesavers have been getting ready for a big season of community, leadership, and beach safety. During the year, members have taken part in the Sorrento Leadership and Initiatives Meeting, and Lifesaving Victoria’s Youth Symposium, and Under 18s Leadership Development Camp, all helping to build skills, strengthen connection, and set the tone for a positive season ahead.
This summer is shaping up to be great with lots of opportunities to get involved with. Thursday night paddles will be back, and our patrol calendar is locked in through to April, with plenty of chances to hit the beach and be part of the team.
To our members and volunteer life savers, thank you for being part of our vibrant coastal community!

ABOUT SORRENTO SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB
Established in 1998, we prioritise public safety and community engagement. Our clubhouse is located on the Mornington Peninsula, and our soon-to-be-rebuilt Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club is located on the iconic Sorrento back beach. As a volunteer life-saving club, our mission is to ensure the safety of beachgoers during the summer months.
With Sorrento Back Beach attracting over 30,000 visitors each year, our dedicated volunteers are essential. Contributing over 1,000 hours each season, they perform critical duties from hazard prevention to first aid, ensuring every beachgoer has a safe experience.
Sorrento SLSC offers opportunities for all ages—from Nippers to adults—to learn surf safety, develop rescue skills, and follow pathways to become volunteer surf lifesavers. Our training programs build confidence and foster a strong sense of community service in our coastal community.
